I worked with Mr Ionel Moise on the house project we intend to build in Sanpetru, Brasov. Now that the project has been completed and the documentation has been handed over, here are some impressions:
1. Attitude and communication
From the first moment I contacted him, I had the impression that he is someone who enjoys what he does, and that is very important. His attitude was positive and energetic. By contrast, in my discussions with other architects I sensed a certain condescension — “you do not know about these things, leave it to me, I know better.” In Mr Ionel Moise’s case, the client and the client’s wishes are important factors, which was clear throughout our discussions. Communication took place mostly through Google Meet video calls and WhatsApp messages.
2. Price
From the beginning, he was clear about the services provided and the corresponding costs. There was no ambiguity. I was informed from the outset and paid for the contract with full knowledge of what it involved. Regarding the actual fee, there was room for negotiation — an architect who adapts to the client’s needs.
3. Responsiveness
It is true that my project was not urgent, with a total duration of approximately seven months, but whenever I suggested a date and time for a meeting, Mr Ionel Moise made himself available. In other words, he made an effort to adapt to my needs, which is very valuable. Likewise, whenever I expressed a wish to have a particular document or preliminary technical drawing, he made every effort to prepare the requested file.
4. Services
In addition to the usual technical drawings and the required documentation, the services included:
- .dwg files from which additional information and dimensions can be obtained;
- a 3D model that helps the contractor understand the project better;
- a spreadsheet listing all the necessary materials, quantities and prices, among other things — giving anyone planning the construction at least an approximate starting point for the costs.
During our meetings, the presentation was organised and detailed, and all concepts were explained clearly. He did not assume that I already knew the basic concepts; he explained everything from the ground up.
5. Overall impressions
From a professional point of view, Mr Ionel Moise is an architect who designs around the client’s ideas, within the limits of feasibility, rather than trying to impose his own ideas or preferences on the project. Once the quality-to-price relationship had been established in the preliminary discussions, he stayed within the agreed framework. Even when I changed my mind or requested modifications, he did everything possible to help, even when the project was already at a late stage.
If someone asked me whom I would recommend for a house project, I would put them in touch with Mr Ionel Moise without hesitation!
